Privacy

This notice explains what personal information Lagena Software handles when you visit this site or email us, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 6 November 2026.

Who is responsible

Lagena Software (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/838999/07, is responsible for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Our Information Officer is Bert Naudé. Email bert@lagena.co.za with any privacy question or request.

When you visit this site

This site has no analytics, no cookies and no forms, and it does not load fonts or scripts from other companies. We do not use your visit to find out who you are.

Our hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, receives the technical details every browser sends, such as your IP address, because it needs them to deliver the page.

When you email us an enquiry

We receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. Please do not send identity numbers, banking details or health information in a first email.

We use this to read your enquiry, reply, decide whether to take the job and, if we do, to prepare an agreement with you. Giving it is your choice, but we cannot reply without an email address.

Your email is stored by our email provider, GoDaddy. We do not sell it or add you to a mailing list. We share it with others only if you ask us to or the law requires it.

We delete enquiries that do not become work once we no longer need them. If an enquiry becomes work, we keep it with the records for that job for as long as the law requires.

Storage outside South Africa

Information we store on Microsoft Azure stays in South African regions, such as South Africa North.

Microsoft serves this site's pages from locations around the world, so your browser's technical details may be handled outside South Africa. Our email provider, GoDaddy, is an international company and may store and process your email outside South Africa.

How we protect it

This site is served over an encrypted connection. Only the people at Lagena who deal with enquiries can read them, and our email and hosting accounts use multi-factor authentication.

Your rights

You may ask us, free of charge, whether we hold your personal information. You may also:

  • Ask for a record of it
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Object to how we use it

Email bert@lagena.co.za. If you are not happy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator or email enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.

Access to company records

Our PAIA manual describes the records we hold and how to request them.
